Welcome to Heavenly Spoon, My name is Jenn Storey, but you can call me “Big Jenny,” my childhood nickname.
I always tell people that the only true hobby I have is food –– and maybe traveling (to eat different types of food, of course).
Growing up, I was often home alone after school which lead me to some adventurous “experimenting” in the kitchen.
There were days when I’d throw anything and everything into the microwave..
One time I even tried baking blueberry muffins in it.
No one told me not to use a metal bowl. The whole thing started on fire.
Not exactly a great start…
Thankfully I’ve come a long way from starting fires in the kitchen.
I’m no expert by any means. I’m definitely on my own journey, learning new things in the kitchen that I’m happy to share with you here.
These days, my favorite thing is to cook tasty meals at home for my friends and family. I love whipping up a new dish and seeing how my husband and two little girls like it.
I’ve always loved how food can bring people together and make someone feel loved and comforted.
I distinctly remember a time when I was young and my mom had almost died in the hospital. Someone brought our family chicken pot pies for dinner. I remember eating that cozy meal and feeling so much comfort that things were gonna be okay.
I share this story because I hope that some of these recipes bring you joy in the midst of uncertain times.
My goal with Heavenly Spoon is to provide you with a ton of great recipes, and other information to help you cook better at home regardless of your cooking experience.
Explore around, and feel free to reach out if you need help!
P.S. My favorite foods are sushi and Thai food. But, I’d love to hear what YOUR favorite foods are or if you have a recipe idea that you’d like me to try.
